Description
The Air Jordan 4 “Bred” is one of the most iconic colorways in the Jordan family. “Bred” stands for Black + Red. The shoe features a primarily black upper with grey and cement accents, and red touches on the tongue and outsole. Over its lifetime, the 4 “Bred” has been retroed multiple times (1999, 2008, 2012, 2019) — and more recently in a “Reimagined” version that updates materials and construction while retaining the classic color blocking.
The 2019 retro version restored the “Nike Air” branding on the heel (a signature OG detail). The “Reimagined” version (2024) introduces a full-grain leather upper in place of the traditional nubuck, a slightly refined last, and tweaks to the shape and detailing to better match the original 1989 silhouette.
Whether you’re talking about the classic retro or the updated Reimagined, the DNA of the Jordan 4 is present: the wing eyelets, mesh side panels, visible Air unit in the heel, and the sculpted midsole/outsole lines.
